La Fonte degli Angeli is the most prestigious public monument of the medieval village of Suvereto (Livorno), located just outside the historic walls along the state road to Monterotondo. Originally created in ancient times, the structure took on its current appearance in 1582, when it was restored at the behest of Jacopo VI d'Appiano, prince of Piombino. For centuries, it represented the main source of water supply and public washhouse for the community.

In 1582 the oldest fountain in Suvereto was built by the Prince of Piombino, James IV of Eppan. A public washhouse was also supplied with it during this time. The fountain has always been the main supply of the town, which is located directly on the main road to Monterotondo. Some old marble images have already been stolen from the historic fountain.
