Monsignor Villa in his studies dedicated to the buildings dedicated to San Rocco present in the Piacenza area, recalls how in the Castelli visit of 1576 the Oratory was destroyed and the Bishop suggested that a cross be erected on the spot. Villa, considering the destruction of the Oratory in 1576, hypothesizes its erection during the plague of 1524.
