At this point you can explore the stone foundations of Abusina Castle. From the camp, Roman occupation troops secured the northern border of the empire for over 400 years against invading Germanic tribes.

Around 430 a catastrophic fire occurred and the fort was destroyed. For a long time it was forgotten, but now the foundations have been uncovered again.

Roman military camp to secure and monitor the Danube. The 550 km long Upper Germanic - Raetian Limes is the second longest ground monument in the world after the Great Wall of China. The Upper German Limes begins in Rheinbrohl, flows into the Raetian Limes at Schwäbisch Gmünd and ends near the Abusina Fort in Hienheim (Limes Tower), where the Limes merges into the "Wet Limes" of the Danube.
The Abusina fort secured the borders from 80 AD.
The fort consists of the following buildings: bathing facility, state rest house, north dead, commander's house, late antique rest house, staff building, west gate, late Roman reduction fort, watchtower, east gate, team barracks.
It is an open-air museum and can be visited for free at any time all year round.
