Fitton Green Natural Area features a forested area and a grassy hill, with a trail system that connects the preserved area with the Cardwell Hill Trail, Bald Hill Natural Area, and Crestmont Land Trust. It was funded by the Greenbelt Land Trust and Elsie Fitton Ross, who gave the name to the land, with her husband Charlie Ross. The area is 308 acres, creating a large greenbelt in the Corvallis area, with many native plants and animals and a significant population of the rare Taylor’s checkerspot butterfly.
