A very beautiful old local church in the old town of Grötzingen near the market square. Surrounded by beautiful old half-timbered houses.

The church stands on the foundations of an Alemannic church from the 9th century. The church was probably enlarged in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries. The gravestone of the city founder of Grötzingen, knight Diebold I von Bernhausen, can be seen at the front right of the chancel. The frescoes, fragments of which can be seen again today, date from the time of Diebold I's son, Diebold II. On the south side, right above the grave slab, depictions of the life of Saint Catherine can probably be seen. This is believed to be the location of the St. Catherine's Altar. The tower's green, brown, red and beige glazed roof tiles date from the time of reconstruction after the church partially burned down due to a lightning strike in 1795.
