The old paper factory in Alling near Regensburg has a long and eventful history. It was founded in 1836 and used the Schwarze Laaber to generate energy for paper production. During the Second World War, accommodation for foreign workers was built on the site, which later served as a refugee camp. In the 1960s, the factory even had its own fire brigade. Today the building is empty and is considered a "lost place" that attracts photographers and adventurers. However, entering it is dangerous because the structure is in a state of severe disrepair.
