The Deeside Way is a longer distance path running from Aberdeen to Ballater following the line of the Old Royal Deeside Railway.
This section is the western end running from Ballater to Tullich, home of Tullich Kirkyard and its Pictish Stones just off the path. At Ballater, the path starts at the Old Royal Station, now a visitor centre and museum with displays showing the Royal Family’s involvement with the Deeside Line dating back to Queen Victorias time.
It's a lovely traffic-free section passing through birch trees and open fields.

A beautiful compacted fine gravel track (mainly) to glide along. That said, the wind can also glide along this exposed way.
