A fairly simple arch adorned with ornaments makes it a tourist attraction in Puno. The Deustua Arch dates back to 1847 and was a tribute to those who fought in the battles of Junín and Ayachuco. Today its name is mainly pronounced as a landmark. The arch is seven blocks north of the Plaza de Armas.
