Highway 447 is mostly known as the main route to access the Black Rock Desert. However, the dry Winnemucca Lake and surrounding mountains are worthy of a visit in their own right. You won't find much in the way of amenities between Nixon & Gerlach, so be sure to take everything you'll need for your ride.
