The “Unterm Wolfsberg” nature reserve is located directly on the connecting road between the two towns of Ronhausen and Wolfshausen. It includes grassland, wetlands and an approximately 600 m long section of the Lahn river. Regular flooding and rising groundwater are a prerequisite for the establishment of reed and sedge communities, remnants of floodplain forests with alders and willows. Moisture-loving birds such as pond and swamp warblers find ideal breeding conditions here. Around a third of the area is extensively cultivated as grassland.
There are numerous beautiful views from the bike path. The nature reserve is not allowed to be entered.
