Running
Runners can time travel through California history along Cordilleras Creek. Though the 3.8 mile creek parallels the freeway, the waters transport joggers back to the days when Spanish explorers called it Arroyo de los Cadillos (Cockleburr Creek). German settler Simon Finger planted vineyards by its banks after 1855 before the waterway evolved through names like Finger Creek. Despite the din of nearby traffic, an out and back along Cordilleras Creek offers glimpses of the Golden State's rich past.
