One of the episodes presents the CANAL DU MIDI. The Pont des Demoiselles, as we know it today, succeeded the Pont de Montaudran in 1971. Its predecessor, built in 1683, was one of the oldest bridges over the canal. It had itself been built to span the new royal canal of Languedoc, renamed Canal du Midi during the Revolution.
