    Hiking

Estes Cone is an 11000 ft high summit, with a cone shape form, offering sweeping views of the south-eastern portion of the park, including the Continental Divide and Longs Peak. This strenuous hike is a steady incline, passing by the Eugenia Mine and an old homestead. The most popular path to Estes Cone is via Eugenia Mine, but you can also start from the less popular Lily Lake. The peak is exposed to changing weather conditions; during summer it is better to go in the morning to avoid the thunderstorms in the afternoon.
