Overall, it's more of a hiking trail than a real via ferrata. The relatively more difficult areas (B/C) can also be avoided; there is enough walking area in between. The focus here is more on the overall experience than on the sporting challenge (if you are really (!!) experienced in alpine climbing, you may also approach this without safety). The path over the ridge offers great views and with ascent and descent and possibly peaks, you have a worthwhile day trip.

Rock climbing

The Grete Klinger Steig is a very long via ferrata, including the approach and descent. The climbing time itself is not that long, but in total you should expect 8 hours - starting at the Vordernberg bus stop and ending at the Präbichl Passhöhe bus stop. A strong wind tends to blow at the top of the ridge. There is no emergency exit.
I've done the climb two years in a row now and really like it, although the entire tour is of course very demanding. If that's not enough for you, you could add Eisenerzer Reichenstein.
