The view of the small island of Olsburg, an archaeological monument in Lake Plön, is particularly enchanting. It is uninhabited and was settled by the Slavs, who built a village in the 11th century to catch fish and go hunting. Originally, the island was connected to the mainland by a wooden bridge and served as a protection. Later it became too narrow and a castle was built on the site of the current Plön Castle.
