    The Mount Paugus via Bolles Trail offers a journey through varied and increasingly rugged terrain, starting with pleasant walks through hemlock and hardwood forests before ascending into spruce. You'll navigate steep sections and rock ledges, but the reward is worth the effort: expansive views from the ledges of Mount Paugus's south summit, looking out over the Sandwich Range and the Lakes Region.

    This moderate 6.5-mile (10.4 km) hike involves 2049 feet (624 metres) of elevation gain and typically takes around 3 hours and 49 minutes. Be prepared for challenging conditions, as the trail can be treacherous when wet or icy, and water crossings can be difficult during high water. It's best to check conditions before you go and plan for an early start to secure parking.
