The Lake of the Dead may have a less than happy name, but it is located in a beautiful natural amphitheater. The expression "dead" in the local dialect means "barren" and does not indicate the condition of the extremely enchanting alpine lake, but refers to the surrounding arid and barren landscape. This is a mystical place with a magnificent view. The water is crystal clear and freezing. On the lake shore you can even find two or three nice deckchairs to relax on.
