At the end of the town of Björköby is Svedjehamn with a small boat harbor. It is part of the Kvarken archipelago (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and extends into Sweden, around Umeå. Here, at the narrowest point of the Baltic Sea foothills, the land rises by about one centimeter every year because the ice from the last great ice age no longer weighs it down.
