Cave Buttes Recreation Area is 2,922-acres in size, and this park is in the upper Sonoran Desert region. The elevation here ranges from 2,000 feet to 3,060 feet above sea level. The water reservoir creates a desert oasis with good views. In the 1870s, gold seekers went through these hills in search of riches, so imagine what that was once like while riding through them.
