First Encounter Beach is a beautiful beach in Eastham, Massachusetts. The beach is named for when a small group of Mayflower Pilgrims came ashore on a hunting trip, traveling south from Provincetown. It was on this beach where they first encountered the Nauset tribe, giving it its name.
