The salt lake is very impressive. Nothing really grows here anymore. there are just a few flamingos, crickets, a few other species of birds and lots of dragonflies. The salt desert is created because part of the Pacific Ocean dried up due to tectonic plate shifting and evaporation resulted in the enormous salt deposits. The salt layer here is 1.5 km deep.
