The iconic Pilgrim Monument towers over the rest of the low-lying skyline of the sleepy seaside town. Completed in 1910, the monument commemorates the Mayflower Pilgrims’ landing in Provincetown in November 1620. The pilgrims spent about five weeks exploring the area before sailing to Plymouth where they ultimately settled. You can visit the museum at the base of the tower and climb the 252 foot granite tower, which grants panoramic views of the entire town, its harbors and beaches, and out across the Atlantic Ocean.
