Cádiz is an ancient port city in southwestern Spain, built on a strip of land surrounded by sea in the Andalusia region. The port is home to the Spanish Navy and grew in the 16th century as a base for exploration and trade. It has more than 100 watchtowers, including the iconic Torre Tavira, traditionally used to spot ships, and the 18th-century Cádiz Cathedral on the coast.

The cathedral is huge. The 8 euro entrance fee is worth it. The climb up the tower is included. 40 m high via a ramp. Certainly not ideal with high heels.

Impressive building with elements of Baroque, Rococo and Classicism as well as a climbable bell tower with panoramic views.
