The final portion of the trail takes you directly up the ridge to the fire lookout. There is no tree cover along the trail (though there is tree cover flanking the ridge just below the trail) so your views are unobstructed. You get great views north to Glacier View Mountain and the North Fork Flathead River, as well as further east into the high peaks of Glacier National Park.
