The Arboretum in Vysoké Chvojn was founded by Margrave Alexandr Pallaviczini around 1884. A castle was to be built on the land and with it a castle park. In the end, the construction of the castle did not take place and only the establishment of the park, i.e. today's arboretum, took place.
