This is a tricky one, even getting to the trailhead itself is a challenge. The safest approach is to cross the playa and drive towards the Black Rock Hot Springs. From there you can park your vehicle and walk around to access the easier approach to Black Rock Point. Or, if you trust your 4x4 skills, you can drive up the unmaintained road. Either way this is something that can only be attempted during dry conditions. Do not attempt to cross the playa if it is wet, YOU. WILL. GET. STUCK!
