The building ensemble between Riebeckstrasse, Oststrasse and Eilenburger Strasse was built between 1890 and 1899 based on the model of similar residential complexes in Augsburg and Munich. Cheap housing was created here for working-class families and single women. The houses, which are arranged around a green (non-public) courtyard, are named after members of the donor family: Julie Salomon and her husband Julius as well as their two daughters Hedwig Holstein and Elisabeth Seeburg.
