The trail is marked out and marked with boards by the Orneta Forest District. It includes a well-preserved fragment of the fortification line officially known as the Lidzbark Position (German: Heilsberg Stellung). It was the longest line of fortifications in East Prussia built by the Germans. As part of it, over 1,000 shelters were built here between 1932 and 1937.
The trail is 3 km long and runs along forest roads and paths. Surfaces suitable for crossing on foot or by bike adapted for off-road riding.
The attraction is free and available 24 hours a day. The trail can also be reached by car. In the south-eastern part of the trail there is a forest stopping place, and the access road leading to it from provincial road 513 is also available for passenger cars.
