Road Cycling Highlight
The first evidence of the presence of a church dates back to 1557 when a chapel was mentioned. In the Thirty Years' War, this was destroyed The today's Protestant half-timbered church was built at this place in 1696. It is today the center of the Protestant parish Worfelden and contains one of the oldest organs of Hesse. The Worfelder organ comes from the Bamberg master organ builder Adam Knauth from the year 1623/24. The building was often demolished due to construction defects, until a thorough renovation in the years 1970 to 1974 restored it to its original condition.
