Roscommon Castle is a dramatic 13th-century Norman Castle. It was built in 1269 by Robert de Ufford, Justiciar of Ireland, on lands which were taken from an Augustinian priory.

While the castle now lies in ruins, its remnants are meticulously preserved within the scenic grounds of Loughnaneane Park. If you're passing by, it's worth taking a leisurely stroll through the park and around these historic remains.
