The Nerotal Park is bordered to the north by the Nerotal Valley and the Nerobergbahn Railway, and to the south by the war memorial and Taunusstraße.
The monument, made of shell limestone (a naked rider with a club), has stood at the entrance to the Nerotalanlagen since 1909. Designed by Karl Krause, it was created by the sculptor Franz Pritel and is intended to commemorate the victorious battles and the human losses suffered during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 near Wörth and Weissenburg, Sedan, and Paris.
