After crossing the Ozette River, the trail begins. At a quarter-mile in, you'll reach a trail junction where the loop starts. The trail then transforms into a picturesque cedar boardwalk through a dense forest.

Along the way, you'll pass through a prairie, formerly a 160-acre marshland teeming with native flora and fauna. Finally, the path approaches the wild shores of Cape Alava, providing incredible coastal views as it leads to Sand Point.

    Ozette Triangle Loop

Prepare for a challenging jogging experience on the Ozette Triangle Loop, a difficult 9.3 miles (15.0 km) route that takes about 1 hours and 51 minutes to complete. You will gain 444 feet (135 metres) in elevation as you move through two distinct environments. The trail begins by winding through dense coastal rainforests, where you can jog on well-maintained boardwalks surrounded by Sitka Spruce and western red cedar. Later, it transitions to the rugged Pacific coastline, offering expansive ocean views and the chance to see ancient petroglyphs at Wedding Rocks.

When planning your visit to the Ozette Triangle Loop, it is important to check tide tables carefully. High tides can make parts of the beach impassable, which means you might need to use steeper overland trails instead. Parking is available at the trailhead, but because of its remote location, you should expect a quieter experience than at more crowded park areas. Always check current trail conditions before you head out to ensure a safe and enjoyable jogging trip.

This unique loop in Olympic National Park offers a blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue. You will jog through verdant rainforests before reaching the dramatic Pacific coastline, where the ancient petroglyphs at Wedding Rocks provide a fascinating glimpse into the past. The varied terrain and distinct ecosystems make this route a memorable adventure for those seeking a challenging and diverse outdoor experience.
