Mauna Loa Road is a beautiful drive, but a narrow one lane highway. Cyclists and motorist should take caution that some turns are sharp and be be careful as this can result in blind spots. That being said it is a beautiful ride, and a Scenic Highway. It is 17 miles one way and goes up the side of Mauna Loa, the largest mountain on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
