Road cycling
The city is magnificent with a lot of Onsen (free and paid), a must-do in the region, just be careful if you are counting on climbing from Matsumoto, there is no space for bikes on the road, a lot of really dangerous tunnels. We hitch a ride near Shinshimashima Station because you can't put the bike in a train or a bus if it's not disassemble in a bag and the taxi can't take you either Best solution rent a car or hitchhike with someone who has a pickup.
