The town of Idro, located in the south of the lake, consists of the Tre Capitelli, Pieve Vecchia, Lemprato, Crone, Vantone, Paröle and Vesta districts. The municipal area stretches from the northern east side of the lake down to the south and a little way up to the west side.Lemprato and Crone are best described as tourist centers. There are numerous inns, restaurants, pizzerias, holiday apartments, cultural institutions and churches. Two churches enrich the townscape, the Chiesa di San Sebastiano in Lemprate and the Chiesa San Michele Arcangelo in the Crone district.
