On the way through the Wachau you inevitably pass this nice church.

On the site of the church in the small village of Schwallenbach near Spitz an der Donau there once stood a chapel from 1420 dedicated to St. was dedicated to Sigismund. Today's church with the same patronage is late Gothic. The interior includes a statue of the Virgin Mary from 1515 and a baroque high altar from 1724, which was inaugurated by the Bishop of Passau. The altarpiece is the work of Martin Johann Schmid from 1767.
