The Coll de Jou was a great discovery. We climbed it along the Ribes de Freser slope, which is very different from the one that goes up from Sant Joan de les Abadeses. This slope has 2 very different sections:
- 1st section to the beautiful town of Bruguera. It is a constant section and much easier than the second.
- 2nd section to the top of the port. It is a much harder section, with a narrower and more concreted road. The views at the final part are spectacular.

The descent from the port towards Sant Joan de les Abadesses is very steep in some sections and is concreted. It is very bulky and not very pleasant for the road bike.
