Road cycling
The fortress is an important political symbol for the South Tyroleans: on November 17, 1957, the major rally at Sigmundskron Castle took place here under the leadership of Silvius Magnago. Over 30,000 South Tyroleans gathered in the castle complex to protest against non-compliance with the Paris Agreement and to demand far-reaching autonomy for South Tyrol (“Lot of Trent”).
