Carter Nature Preserve is home to about 1 and a half miles of trails. There are two ecosystems hikers will encounter on the trail: the Shore area and the Woods area. The shore has rock ledges, tide pools, cobble rock beaches, and nice views of Morgan Bay. The mixed forest has some larger old-growth trees, and together, this makes for an enjoyable hike..
