The current house, the Kieftskamp or Kieftenkamp, near Vorden was built in 1776. This makes it one of the youngest country houses in Gelderland.
Originally, the Kieftskamp was an independent estate. In 1626 it was owned by Johan Kosman, who, however, was unable to meet his financial obligations, so the estate ended up in the hands of his creditors. They sold it again within a year to Gualtherus Schutten, who had become the owner of the adjacent Wachelink property in 1633.
