Mountain biking
The Vione tower is part of the Sentiero dei Castelli, and is located in a sunny spot on the Rhaetian side above Vione.
You get there via a steep path where you might have to push your bike or carry it on your shoulder, but there is a beautiful view and it's a nice spot to have a picnic.

Hiking
The Vione tower was part of the fortification system in the area between Mazzo and Grosio, built by the Venosta family in the Middle Ages.
Like practically all the other castles in the valley, it was destroyed shortly after the Grisons from Switzerland conquered Valtellina in 1512.
The tower had a lookout function and in fact offers a beautiful view.
