The old convent of Santo Domingo, which unfortunately is in ruins, with only some remains of the church having been preserved. It is located towards the northwest, outside the walled area of the city. It is a Renaissance construction, ordered to be erected in the 1660s, and its final decline, like that of so many other monasteries, came as a result of the confiscations of the 19th century. It was built by the masters Alonso Becerra and his son, Francisco Becerra, who would later leave for America, where he would work on the cathedrals of Quito, Cuzco and Lima, among others.
