The Parish Church of San Pedro Apóstol is one of the most emblematic temples of Alcantarilla, in the Region of Murcia. This large and grand temple was built between the 60s and 70s on the site of the old church, which was demolished in 1961.
The modern design of the current building was carried out by the architect Enrique Sancho Ruano. It includes works by the local sculptor Anastasio Martínez, such as the expressionist altarpiece of the High Altar, presided over by a 7-metre-high Crucifix.
