When hiking up from Abisko, look back before you pass the highest point. You have a great view down to the plain around Abisko, to Paddus and lake Torneträsk.
Later on, the Lapporten valley itself was less impressive than expected.
It gets lonely from here: I met only 2 other hikers during the next 2.5 days.
