The karst cave near Dienstedt has been managed and maintained by the Dienstedt & Oesteröda e.V. village and local history association in cooperation with the town of Stadtilm since 2021. The visiting period is from May 1st to September 30th each year. In between, the karst cave remains closed to give the bats a place to retreat for the winter days.
