Natural stone fountain

The natural stone fountain is located in the Vockenhausen district in front of Town Hall I on the main street.

It consists of three Taunus quartzite rocks of different sizes from the neighboring forest. Water bubbles through a hole on the top of the rocks and runs down the sides of the rocks into a round collecting basin. From there it is pumped back up in a cycle. The play of colors of the wetted stones changes depending on the lighting and makes the fountain an attractive eye-catcher. The surrounding area with benches has also been redesigned. The fountain and its neighborhood have become a popular meeting place.

The fountain was donated to the district by the Beautification Association to celebrate its 775th anniversary. It was created based on an earlier design by local artist Walter Hertel, who also created the monument in memory of the Vockenhausen smelting works.
