She is one of the most important women in Mallorcan history: Catalina Homar. The island council has now dedicated a hiking trail to her. The "Ruta Catalina Homar" leads north of Valldemossa, her birthplace, through the Tramuntana. The name Catalina Homar is inextricably linked to the name of the Austrian Archduke Ludwig Salvator. She was his lover for many years and managed the Arxiduc wineries, as he is called in Mallorca. The Ruta Catalina Homar is not new to experienced hikers, as it runs largely along the Camí de s'Arxiduc, Ludwig Salvator's former bridle path (Mallorca Magazine).
