Halfway between Kahalui and Lahaina lies this fantastic vantage point. On the left you can see the Haleakalā and the south part of Maui. On the right the island Lanai and in the south Kaho'olawe. But why is the viewpoint so fantastic? This area between the islands with a max. Sea depth of 300m is between December and April (main time: February and March) a playground for many humpback whales and their young calves. You can see them jumping with high probability. A really great sight. One should not miss to observe these impressive animals.

A PLEASE FROM THE DOMESTIC: DO NOT LOOK AT THE CARS TO LAHAINA FOR WALES (only one street, lots of traffic and it increases the risk of accident)
