St. Anna Chapel Weichendorf

Patronage - Saint Anna, patroness of mothers - As a reference to the veneration of Anna in Weichendorf, on the north wall of the parish church, i.e. on the side facing Weichendorf, is St. Anna, the mother of Mary. This is also documented by a depiction of Anna at the fountain in the center of Weichendorf. Construction began in 2002 and Mrs. Anni Leicht donated the 105 m2 plot of land. In 2003 it was consecrated to St. Anna and opened to the public. The chapel has a strong gable turret, is richly furnished by donors and offers the faithful of Weichensdorf an atmospheric space for the usual annual devotions and services.It cannot be proven whether the veneration of Anna has its roots in pre-Christian times. However, there are said to be indications of the veneration of mother deities on the Weichendorfer Flur. (Info Memmelsdorf Parish)
