The building constructed by Jacques Cœur between 1443 and 1451 is one of the earliest examples of a civil Gothic residence, a symbol of the success of the wealthy merchant who became King Charles VII's treasurer. From February 2025 to June 2026, conservation and restoration work will be undertaken on the tower of the causeway.
